2. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using soventa.pro ("the site"), or by instructing Soventa to provide advisory services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and, where applicable, by a separate written engagement letter. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of the site.
3. Nature of the website
The content published on this site — including articles, calculators, illustrative figures and general commentary on tax, retirement and business finance — is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute personalised financial, tax, legal or investment advice and should not be relied upon as such. Formal advice is only given within the context of a signed engagement letter with Soventa, following an assessment of your specific circumstances.
4. Engagement of advisory services
Where you engage Soventa for tax planning and compliance, retirement and wealth advisory, or business financial advisory services, the specific scope, fees, deliverables and responsibilities of each party will be set out in a separate engagement letter or service agreement. In the event of any conflict between these Terms of Use and a signed engagement letter, the engagement letter prevails in respect of the services it covers.
Our advisory services are provided with reasonable skill and care in accordance with applicable South African professional standards. We do not guarantee any particular financial, tax or investment outcome, and past performance or illustrative projections are not indicative of future results.
5. Client responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete and timely information necessary for us to perform our services. Soventa is entitled to rely on the information you supply without independent verification, unless our engagement letter states otherwise. Delays or inaccuracies in the information you provide may affect our ability to meet deadlines or the quality of advice given.
6. Fees and payment
Fees for advisory services are quoted separately per engagement, either as a fixed fee, hourly rate, or retainer, and are payable in South African Rand unless otherwise agreed. Invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice. Late payment may result in suspension of services until outstanding amounts are settled. Where applicable, VAT is charged at the prevailing statutory rate in addition to quoted fees.
7. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, graphics, logos, the Soventa name and mark, calculators and layout — is the property of Soventa Financial Consulting (Pty) Ltd or its licensors, and is protected by South African copyright and trademark law. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use, but may not reproduce, distribute or modify it without our prior written consent.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site to: (a) attempt unauthorised access to our systems or data; (b) transmit malicious code or interfere with the site's normal operation; (c) scrape, copy or republish content at scale without permission; or (d) use the site for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any user who breaches these terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by South African law, Soventa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of this website, including reliance on general content published on it. Our liability in connection with formally engaged advisory services is governed exclusively by the limitation of liability provisions contained in the relevant engagement letter, and nothing in these Terms of Use limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or as provided under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
10. Third-party links
This site may contain links to third-party websites for your convenience. Soventa does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of any linked third-party site.
11. Availability of the site
We aim to keep this site available and functioning correctly but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend, restrict or amend the site, in whole or in part, at any time for maintenance, security or business reasons, without prior notice.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in our services, the law, or how the site operates. The version published on this page at the time of your use applies. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts having jurisdiction over Cape Town, Western Cape, without prejudice to any statutory right you may have to bring proceedings elsewhere.
